Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect. -Mark Twain
Honesty, and vulnerability, are easy to measure. If what you say has thinned the crowd around you, and those who have remained have only done so to attempt to discredit you, both are probably sufficient in quantity.
Most people are content with a version of the truth, and that version is likely their own. Truth isn't presented in swatches to assist in matching what one wants it to be, with a credible interpretation.
Truth is, or is not.
Those who rally against it know this best of all.
The purpose in trying to tell
the truth with consistency does not
involve the response of those who deny it. The purpose in learning to tell it is the transformation of the one determined to speak it. You can not state the truth without being carved by its edges.
Telling the truth, or ignoring it, is the difference between virtue, and vice. It's the difference between decency, and impropriety. If you spend enough time thinking you can change the truth by disparaging the one who speaks it, you may believe you've actually done so.
Eeeeeeeeeeerrh! Incorrectamundo!
Instead, what you've done is granted more territory to darkness, and collared what previously glowed in light. Personally, I don't give a shit what title you hold, or how much you make after taxes. You don't have a right to do that.
None of us do.
I have a date with those engaged in doing that to me, and it's getting closer. I intend to keep it for one, singular purpose.
I'm going to force the ones who employed lie after lie, to look truth in the eye, even if it's just for a moment. I want them to see where the darkness they let in, is living. I want them to see me.
And then I'm going to ask the Phd's if they'd like to step outside. (Not really, I just thought that sounded cool. Like something Fonzi would say.)

What I will do is what I am able to do. I'll continue to transform the world by transforming myself.
“We are here not to make something of ourselves. We are here to Be ourselves.”
